About this performance

Set five sees a feature on our Slanguages collaboration project which explored the creative way artists employ and take inspiration from languages such as Arabic, Hindi, Patois, Pidgin, Polish, Punjabi, Russian, Urdu, urban sign languages, and Yoruba.

Next up is the Journey Drum, presenting an overview of where the rhythms from popular genres originated from and the journey from Africa.

Then we have a Homage to African Diaspora, with featuring pioneers like & Ambrose Campbell, Elders, an into current african jazz artists like Afolaranmi Olaoluwa, & Adedeji Adetayo & finishing up with a moving track about Black Lives Matter from local composer Dotta Beats called I Can't Breathe.
